In March 2024, a training event was held in Morogoro, Tanzania. Sixty-nine students from 27 language groups participated. The training covered 16 diverse subjects, designed to equip translators with the knowledge and skills to translate the Bible into their mother tongues. Among the topics were Introduction to Hebrew, Morphology and Syntax, and The God-Centred Leader. Each subject provided valuable insights, blending spiritual growth with practical skills for translation.
One student, Emmanuel, a 62-year-old from Tunduru, shared this with us:
“I thank God that more than 40 years ago I left Islam and accepted Christ as the Lord and Savior of my life. At my age, you might wonder—can I study for a diploma? Yes, I can and will, because of the help of my brothers from the Nindi tribe. The challenges in my community are immense; there is no school, no hospital, no good housing, and many of our brothers are dying in the dark and trusting the power of the dark world. For the sake of our children and grandchildren, I will dedicate myself to finishing these studies so that the Light can enter among my people. Knowing the true God, I will surely be happy that my effort was not in vain.”
