In January 2025, a small but significant training event took place in Skopje, North Macedonia, equipping participants with vital computer literacy and study skills. The two students who attended the training represent the Macedonian Romani Arli language community.
The sessions aimed to strengthen foundational skills that will support the participants as they engage with Bible translation and community development in the future.
The Computer Literacy course provided practical knowledge for navigating computers more effectively. One participant, Bajram, shared:
“I have learned that in order to form a habit, it needs 21 days. With this information, I created a 21-day plan to improve my typing skills. Also, I learned, for example, how to use CTRL+ALT+Delete to go through my computer. It provided me with one extra piece of information for my computer skill.”
Alongside computer skills, the Study Skills sessions helped participants become more effective learners. Doznatan reflected:
“I learned how to format short essays and how to use the smart system to study effectively. Also, from Study Skills, I learned how to research, edit, and format essays. Most of the stuff from Computer Literacy was known to me, but this was a good refreshment and for me to know where I am with my computer skills.”
We celebrate the dedication of these students and look forward to seeing how they will apply these new skills in their future work.
