Thirty-four students—including translators, staff, and a consultant in training – recently completed Biblical Leadership and Management and Computer Literacy training in Southeast Asia. This program aimed to strengthen leadership skills rooted in biblical principles while enhancing technological proficiency to support translation work.

Growing as Servant Leaders

The Biblical Leadership and Management course provided valuable insights into servant leadership, emphasising humility, collaboration, and lifelong learning. Many students found this course transformative.

An Aurok translator shared, “I learned a valuable lesson about the spirit of leadership—especially the importance of serving and sharing with others, both within the Christian community and beyond.”

Similarly, an Erhe staff member reflected, “Through this course and the experiences of others, I discovered a leadership style that suits me and my ministry.”

A Heteng translator noted, “I realised I had been leading based on my own ideas. This course helped me develop a more effective approach.”

Building Digital Confidence

In today’s world, digital skills are essential, especially in translation work. The Computer Literacy course provided hands-on training to the students.

An Aurok translator appreciated the practical benefits, stating, “The course helped me use the computer more efficiently, improving my work.” An Erhe translator agreed, adding, “We didn’t just learn theory—we practised real tasks that directly benefit our translation work.”

A Heteng translator, who had some prior experience, shared, “Even though I knew a few things, I learned many new skills that will help me work more effectively.”

Looking Ahead

This training was an opportunity for growth and equipping students to lead and serve more effectively.  We look forward to seeing how the students apply these skills in their translation work and beyond!
